2009 Update

The 2009 Tas Sci Fi Convention will be held at the Wrest Point Boardwalk Gallery over the weekend 15-16-17 May 2009.

2008 Wrap

The inaugural event was held May 30th—June 1st 2008 at the Wrest Point Boardwalk Gallery Convention Centre.

Over 3,200 people turned up for the first ever full scale Tasmanian Sci Fi Convention over that weekend from kids dressed up as their favourite superheroes, to the Premier of Tasmania David Bartlett.

Everything from Batman to Star Wars, 50’s Sci Fi to Japanese Anime was on show with over 50 tables of Science Fiction fans exhibiting their wares, as well as several merchandise stands.

We were featured heavily in the media, with WIN, Southern Cross, and the ABC all filming and showing the event on the evening news on the Saturday night.

We gave away over $4,000 in prizes on the weekend.

This included our popular Quiz, attendees who turned up in costume and several other guessing competitions as well as lucky door prizes.
